Dr. KarisAllen completed her BSc at Mount Allison University, followed by her undergraduate medical degree at Dalhousie Medical School. She moved to Edmonton and completed her Royal College of Physician and Surgeons Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alberta. 

Dr. KarisAllen provides a full range of obstetric care and gynecological surgery at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital. Her daily motivation comes from interacting with the women and families she serves, in both joyful and challenging circumstances. She is dedicated to providing high quality care for a range of obstetrical and gynecological issues for a diverse population and has interests in the area of Quality Improvement.

A mother of two and one fur baby, Laura enjoys camping in the mountains with her family, yoga, karate, amateur astronomy, gardening and exploring Edmonton with her young family.
